Skulls & Flowers is the prototype of slides in EVA created in co-branding with Wearlight, a leading company in the production of soles for shoes. Creativity was the driving force behind this project, developed to give new life to existing moulds used for a product already on the market in a smooth version.
Our designers handled the creative designing of Skulls & Flowers, enhancing the mould with artistic and technical details, able to combine harmony, lightness and vitality.
If working with important styling centres and famous brands is always stimulating, knowing that they trust our ideas is priceless. With Wearlight we created a selection of graphic proposals, each featuring unique details that give a specific identity to the product. The idea that won over everyone was the boldest one, a composition of skulls and Amaryllis Belladonna, an exotic flower with delicate petals.

The use of four layers is what makes the upper three dimensional, because it lets the subjects appear with varying depths and dimensions.
We relied on our industrialised creativity to make Skulls & Flowers. This means the ability to integrate artistic vision and technical factors, in order to ensure trouble-free moulding. We needed to consider various elements for this project:
Curved surface of the mould
We laid the texture to prevent the creation of stretching or deformations.
Gap between upper and sole
We corrected this with a morphing, replacing the normal blended effect with a more original solution.
Juxtaposition of the two slippers
We eliminated the specularity of the elements that caused a weighed down effect, with different textures on the two uppers.
EVA material
We considered its expansion coefficient to correctly extract the product from the mould.
